The Global Take Off: Puerto Rico program provides funding for students to participate in an interactive, five-day, faculty-led trip to Puerto Rico after final exams are over in December. UNC students, faculty, alumni and staff are invited to submit up to three photos representing any world region as a part of the annual Carolina Global Photo Competition. There is no restriction on the period in which the photograph was taken, and travel need not have been connected to a program at UNC. The Passport to Go! program provides funding for first-year or new transfer students to obtain their first U.S. passport. Applications from students who otherwise would not be able to afford the cost of a passport are prioritized, and we are specifically targeting students traditionally underrepresented in global opportunities (read more about our Opening Access initiative here).
