Annette Hiatt

Annette Hiatt is the Policy Director for the North Carolina Association of Black Lawyers’ Land Loss Prevention Project. Founded in 1983, LLPP’s mission was to stop the epidemic losses of land amongst farmers, low income and communities of color. The organization provides free legal expertise and advocates for community-driven policy solutions for low-income North Carolinians working on issues associated with sustainable agriculture, land tenure, and environmental justice. Annette worked from 2001-2006 with the litigation and policy units of the organization and now works solely in the policy unit. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Agricultural Resources Center—Pesticide Education Project, and is a Section Council Member for the Natural Resources, Environment, and Energy Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
