UNC's Languages Across the Curriculum (LAC) Program integrates the study and use of languages into non-language courses. Since the program was launched in 1996, we've offered LAC course options (independent seminars, discussion sections, combined discussion sections, and research components) in seven languages (Arabic, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish) for over 40 courses in 20 departments or professional schools.
LAC is a collaboration between numerous National Resource Centers at UNC, and it is increasingly regarded as a model at research institutions.
