Presenter Handbook
Use this helpful handbook as a guide to assist you in preparing your international presentation. Rules of thumb for public speaking, advice and activity ideas for working with various K-12 age groups and information to prepare you for your first school visit are included. A printed version of the handbook will be distributed at the training session.

K-12 Resource Library
The K-12 Resource Library offers a variety of materials consisting of videos, activity books, CDs and culture kits available for your use as a presenter. Culture kits include a collection of items such as toys, photos and clothes, designed to give students a glimpse into the culture of a specific country. Currently, the library has culture kits for 26 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America. Presenters are encouraged to use multiple visuals and touchable objects as teaching tools during their presentations. You may browse our library materials at any time online or during business hours at the Center for Global Initiatives located in the Coates Building at 223 East Franklin Street. If possible please call before visiting to ensure staff will be available to assist you.

You can help add to our library collection by suggesting videos, books, or music that would enhance your presentation or offer additional support for follow-up teacher activities. Send suggestions to Tara_Muller@unc.edu. You can also support our library by collecting cultural artifacts during your travels abroad and creating a culture kit. Kits include a minimum of 5 items complete with short written descriptions of each included object. Contact our office for details.
