living room, The Carolina Inn offers excellent accommodations in the perfect
location for campus activities. Across the street from the
FedEx Global Education Center, it is also a 5 minute walk from
the main street of Chapel Hill and heart of campus dining and

Other affordable options for hotel accommodations include the The Holiday Inn Express or the Courtyard by Marriott. These hotels offer nice amenities and will provide a complimentary shuttle service upon request to our building and destinations within Chapel Hill. AIRPORT AND TRANSPORTATION
RDU, Raleigh/Durham International Airport, is the closest location for incoming flights and is approximately 30 minutes drive from campus. Taxis or buses are available for transportation to Chapel Hill. Travelers may take the TTA bus line from RDU to Chapel Hill. We are within walking distance from the North Columbia Street at West Franklin Street bus stop. Buses within Chapel Hill are free. View these links for more information: System Map. Bar and Grill (corner of E. Franklin & N. Columbia
Streets) - Also
located on a busy corner of Franklin Street, Spanky’s is a
nice spot for both lunch and dinner.
Suttons Drug Store (159 E.
Franklin St) - A Chapel Hill institution for decades, Sutton
Drugs offers diners an old fashioned lunch counter experience.
Specializing in diner favorites and creamy milkshakes, photographs
of previous diners, particularly UNC athletes, add flair to
this Franklin Street working pharmacy.

The Carolina Basketball Museum:
Visit the UNC Basketball Museum!
Tuesday - Friday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

The museum, located on the first floor of the Ernie Williamson Athletics Center adjacent to the Smith Center, has attracted nearly 25,000 visitors since it opened in January. The museum chronicles the history of UNC Basketball and includes nearly 500 authentic artifacts, hundreds of photographs, and videos of various players, coaches, championships and historic moments. The Chapel Hill Museum:
The Chapel Hill Museum was founded to exhibit the Character and Characters of Chapel Hill.
There are currently 12 exhibits of different scope and size. The two main exhibit halls feature changing exhibits on about a 6 week to 2 month cycle. Visitation grew to over 20,000 a year and the education programs benefit over 2000 local students per year.

Open Drawing Session for the community at the Ackland Art Museum. The session opens with a brie consideration of a single work of art followed by time to draw in a pre-selected gallery. Eat Local Triangle in June!
Slow Food Triangle is holding a series of events this month to further it's mission of raising awareness about the connection of local foods and farms to issues such as health, local economy and the environment. Many local restaurants have committed to offering at least one totally local dish for the month of June. The ingredients will come from within a 200-mile radius of the restaurant.
