Global Entrepreneur-in-Residence

The appointment of Chancellor Holden Thorp brought with it a renewed focus on entrepreneurship and innovation at the University.  In particular, UNC seeks to open more avenues through which academic pursuits can directly inform solutions that address the world’s most pressing problems.

We meet this demand by bringing a global entrepreneur-in-residence to campus each year.

For the 2012-13 year, we are partnering with the Campus Y and the Entrepreneur Minor to welcome to campus Dennis Whittle, co-founder of Global Giving.

Through monthly visits to campus, he is meeting with students and faculty to explore global social entrepreneurship. He is also giving public talks and guest lectures in classes.

Our goal is to pull together a wide range of people with seemingly unrelated interests because we feel that such an approach is the best way to spur creative insights.

For more information on meeting with him or on this initiative in general, please contact Dr. .

We are pleased to be able to offer this exciting initiative through The Global Education Fund, which supports UNC’s top global priorities.
