Thanks to the generous gift of an anonymous donor, we are happy to offer two $500 awards to support the travel costs for first-time global engagement in a developing country. Applications will be made available to all those who are eligible (please see below), attend GO! and complete the post-GO! evaluation survey.
Award amount
$500 is awarded to two recipients each April.
Application and selection
2013 applications are due Friday, April 19 with selection occurring the last week of classes. You may view a sample application here.
Eligibility
The award requires a recipient must be:
- an in-state, undergraduate student,
- who is returning to UNC, and
- who has attended the 2013 GO! Global Orientation on Culture and Ethics, and
- who has not yet had the opportunity to travel, live, and engage with a community within a developing country.
Final Project Requirement
Recipients are expected to write and post a visual narrative of their experience based on guidelines that will be provided to recipients once selected.
