Funding
The Center for Global Initiatives offers an array of competitive funding opportunities for faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students.
In addition to being UNC’s institutional home of the Fulbright Program, we support curriculum development, field research, international internships, conference participation, pre-dissertation travel, and foreign language training.
We also provide matching funds for innovative projects that expand and amplify the global work of UNC.
In line with the Center's overarching goal, we are especially interested in funding projects that:
1) carry the potential to reshape intellectual communities;
2) bridge disciplinary boundaries to generate deliberations with diverse perspectives;
3) engage external audiences with the knowledge and activities generated at UNC.
You can review the complete list of CGI funding award winners from 2003-2004, 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 in PDF format. You can learn more about students' internship experiences by searching our internship database.
Before applying for funding, please carefully review UNC's Policy Concerning Study, Travel, and Research in Countries Under U.S. State Department Travel Warnings. Please also review the IRB GUIDANCE FOR STUDENT RESEARCH AND CLASS PROJECTS.
